Customer Rating: Summary: okay but my frend LOVES IT. a review by alex age 10 Comment: Its okay i meen it is fun but not super fun the only times i play the game is wen my frend named katey comes over then wee play for a long time. you can dominate slopestyle big alr and super pipe. THER IS MORE MUSIC by fat boy slim n.e.r.d. and soooo much more. You can go off clifs and take short cuts and go on homes. so it looks like its you against the MOUNTAIN FOR NOW GOOD BYE.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best game I have Comment: This is a really fun game. There are lots of things to do on it, like Half Pipe, Racing, and freestyle. There are a lot of different courses to go on, and when you've finished peak one, you go on to peak two, and then peak three. It's not too easy, and it isn't so hard that you get frustrated and don't want to play it anymore. The controls aren't hard to remember, like in some games. I would definately buy this game again, and it is great for most ages.
Customer Rating: Summary: 30-minute Mountain is Best Time Waster Ever Comment: I'm not too big on racing games and had a bad experience with 1080 for N64, so snowboarding wasn't on the top of my list either. I played SSX Tricky and got a feel for it, so when SSX3 came out I decided to give it a shot. It's by far one of the best games I've ever played on the GameCube!
You get pretty adapted to the controls fairly quickly and landing tricks couldn't be easier, all you have to do is make sure the board is the first thing to touch the ground. All the tricks are so insane that it makes real life snowboarding look dull.
The best part is when you unlock the All-Mountain Race. You're given 30 minutes to board from the top of Peak 3, through all the racing levels in the game, and to the bottom of Metro City. I don't know how they did it, but you actually snowboard for a full thirty minutes straight without running into any load screens, so it reall feels like all the racing levels are attached to one continuous mountain. Whenever I take a study break I pop in this game and do the All-Peak Race, trying to finish it even faster than the previous time. It's definitely worth the money.
Customer Rating: Summary: SSX -- The Most Fun I've Had Playing A Video Game In A Long Time. Comment: I'll start off by saying this: the gamecube is not the greatest of systems...nor is it the worst. It beats the heck out of PS2, (in my opinion)and it has developed games like SSX3 that blow you away.
The SSX games were always particularly fun during cold winter days without any snow. Being a boarder myself, it gave me something to do. Although SSX3 and all of the SSX games do go a bit over the edge - which is a good thing for most people - I must say it was one of my favorite games.
You will start off in a simple menu in which you see a single player - mode, multi - player, and some settings. After buzzing through the instructions, give it a go. Start up single - player and choose a character.
The characters are truly a masterpiece in all of the brilliant SSX games. They have many different dialogue sequences in which they can interact with another boarder. Highly detailed and pefected 'till beauty, these characters are not easy to overlook with a keen eye.
When you start up, you recieve a helping hand that maybe is...er... a bit too much of a helper. If you have not played SSX and SSX Tricky, you probably won't have too hard of a time. However, check out a few of the tips they provide on the first slope.
SSX is famous for its big jumps, horrendous wipe outs, and uber tricks; ridiculous as they are, they are just as "cool" to adults as they are to kids. They are very simple tricks to manuever on your controller, but in the game your character will pull off outstanding - sucicidal - tricks that will make you wan't to scream.
I found that in SSX3 you strangely sort of...bond with your character. You have to play it to understand, but I can kind of explain it. When you finish a race in 1st or 2nd place and you've been trying for days to beat it, you look to your left and right, shrug, and start hollering with joy.
Any parents worried for any reason that this game is not for children - it fine. Let 'em play it. No gore or swearing at all.
The controlls are very simple, but take some time to learn if you are new to snowboarding games. I recommend not getting it for kids 6 and under, (but thats only because the controlls may prove to be an issue for them)unless they are quite gifted.
The whole gaming experience with SSX3 is such a blast because its all freestyle. You can go anywhere on the mountain. You can go off your track and onto another; break through fences, ride rails off to the side for 20 feet and then land in a brand new place. Tracks hold hundreds of suprises that I still have not discovered. I know this because I have already found many passages, short cuts, what ever you want to call them - this game has it. You can dress your character to what ever funk or style you wish. Earn cash from events, and take home the gold metal! Push over riders and ride away, spraying them with snow. Take on avalanches that look insanely real, and hit the biggest jump you've ever seen in your life. Events include: racing, freestyle, halfpipe, big air, and more. Rack up the uber, rack up the points - buy SSX3, I know you'll be extremely happy with it.
