Customer Rating: Summary: Surprisingly Good! Comment: So...what I know about RPG video games could fit on the back of a postage stamp. Frankly, I bought LoTR: The Third Age because, like a lot of folks here, I'm a LoTR fan.
First off, I love the authenticity of it...voices of people from the movie, scenes from the film, but yet, a different storyline and characters.
Second, graphics are gorgeous and well-done. The movement of the character running up the steps of the elven healing altar is just freakin' cool.
Third, replay value is surprisingly good. You can "pump" up a different character every time you play. They all have so many different skills.
Fourth, the format is fun. No running around like headless chickens pressing random buttons, trying to figure out the double-cross mega drop-kick or whatever. You have time to make good choices.
OK, yeah, there are a few times where the dialogue is cheesy. So what? You move on and keep playing. Hardcore LoTR fans are probably going to hate this game, because "it mutilates everything we love about LoTR." However, it's a video game...keep those things separate in your mind, and you'll probably enjoy this gem.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Bit Long... Comment: I love all things Lord Of The Rings. This game is great, if a bit hard at the start. The graphics are some of the best and most realistic I've seen on Nintendo in a long time. The only thing that bugs me is that you have to switch discs halfway through the game. I know that this is because of the intensive graphics and sound effects, but it's still annoying. All in all, this is an amazing game and probably one of the top two LOTR games I've ever played !
Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointing Comment: I rented this game hoping it would be like to Knights of the Old Republic...
I was dead wrong.
The weapons, spells, and whatnot look pretty cool, and the landscape look nice. The games weakest point is its storyline. From the view of an avid LOTR fan, its ludicrous. It begins okay, but around Helm's Deep and Osgiliath, the plot worsens until the end. The script is painful to hear.
Bpttom Line: RPG and LOTR fans might want to rent this, but anyone not wishing to see the most ridiculous final boss fight of all time night want to skip this.
Customer Rating: Summary: wepons armor elfstones! Comment: well ive played allot of rpgs but this overall was the bust fun with new foes new wepons great skills i especially like the elfstones some increase action points some increase health and ect. but some even give you a whole new variety of skills!great levels from the movie no choice of difficulty so if you start s new game it might be easier from experience, but beside that it would be pretty dificult especially the bosses ranging from trolls balrog and even the witchking of agnmar!ive had this game for months and havent got past pellenor fields!the mumakil and withcking will defeat you if u dont hav mountian shieldand an elfstone of spirit enchancement he could stun you and kill you in about 3 to 5 hits!thats y i sugges u rentt if u dont like its probably not your thing(: ok everyone im just a kid but thats my opion get this game(: or i will get u!
Customer Rating: Summary: A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Comment: I bought this game before I looked at the reviews, and now I regret buying it. It is the 2nd worst game I have ever played(1st being Finding Nemo). If this game sound cool to you don't buy it before renting it. If you don't rent it first, I am telling you, it is a waste of money!! I payed $20 on this when I could've spent it on a better game, now I wasted 20 bucks on that piece of junk! I lost valuable weapons on that game because I died but could'nt save at any time I wanted to. That is why you should rent it first or waste your money.
