Customer Rating: Summary: Decent, but nothing really fantastic on here. Comment: I bought this UMD at the same time I bought my PSP, because I was really just waiting for Silent Hill 0rigins to come out and needed something to do with my new toy in the meantime. I wasn't sure what this whole thing was about, but knew it had comics and videos. The extras are pretty cool actually, and I didn't pay much for it so I'd say it was an okay waste of cash.
When you arrive at the music menu, you can choose among 20 different music tracks from the games. Interviews with Akira Yamaoka and Christophe Gans are also on the disc. While I usually appreciate Lovecraft references, Whateley from The Hunger comic reminded me too much of Julian Sands in Warlock for me to take the character seriously. Silly looking guy with long blonde hair in a trenchcoat who magically disappears behind trucks. I am not impressed. Still, it's probably the best SH comic there is, not that it's saying much. It too me some time to warm up to the characters, and it's a totally over the top story, but it's okay.
The "hidden" videos were rather easy to find, a large X flashes on the screen. These are just the Fukuro and Kinoko videos.
Other than that, there is a large, pointless movie screen that hows images from the games. The whole menu are is Midwich elementary and you kind of zoom from room to room, which is kind of cool.
It's not a bad disc for Silent Hill fans, but there are all sorts of things I would rather have seen on it, such as old trailers.
Customer Rating: Summary: Silent Hill Experience Comment: This is a MUST for silent hill fans. It is beyond words. Its worth any price you pay for it cuz it give so much and has so many hidden features.
Customer Rating: Summary: Buy it for the music Comment: This psp title is great for silent hill fans. This is not a game, but rather a "best of" from other silent hill titles. The best reason to buy is the soundtracks from all previous silent hill games. The experience includes clips from silent hill 2 etc. nice, animation of a comic book and an interview with the creator.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great product -- IF you're a Silent Hill fan Comment: This is NOT a game. Some people seem to think it is. Just remember that it's a UMD, which basically means it's a video. It's got interactive menus, which are pretty cool, and set in the school of Silent Hill. Creepy atmosphere, exclusive videos and comics make this a very cool addition to your collection.
There are a few problems, such as in the sound track area, you cannot "play all," and must go back to the list every time and select the next song. I usually don't listen to the entire Silent Hill soundtrack, though, so this isn't that big a deal. The comics also are not as good as the box makes them sound, but that is just my opinion.
All in all, this is a very good addition to any Silent Hill fan's collection. However, I would not say that this is a must-have by any means. If you like the series, I recommend it. If you're new to the series, then I recommend playing the games first; a lot of this game would not be very interesting. Yet.
Customer Rating: Summary: Loved it but wish there was more Comment: The comics are weird but funny. I wish there was more to do and look at in it, like more music and maybe some mini games but it is alright.
