Summary: EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM STARTER!!!!
Comment: In my opinion, this system is the best one to start with! I have looked at used stores, ebay, half.com, and Amazon for games. The most educational games are made for the PS1. They are fun and start with Preschool with games like Jumpstart Wild safari, Dora Barnyard, Blue's Clues Musical, and there are many more. For older teens to adults there are puzzle games like Wheel of Fortune, Cleopatra's Fortune, and more. We have a Nintendo Wii and love it! But for sit down games that are educational and affordable, I would highly recommend the Playstation 1. It plays cd's as well. Be sure to get a memory card for each controller. They are easy to find used. And be sure you put the controllers up if you have small children or they might pull on them too hard or pull the system off.
In addition, the N64 has much higher priced games and not very many educational tools. Who wants to play golf or snowboarding with their thumbs anyway?
The Wii is good to get moving. We love Wii Sports, Wii Fit and Mario Galaxy, but for Pre-school the PS1 wins my vote.

Summary: Best Video Game System Ever
Comment: Back in 1997 I was 9 years old and christmas was coming. My parents decided to buy me a video game system. The choices were Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn, or Sony Playstation. Each one I rented from blockbuster first the Saturn didn't like it. Than n64 I liked it and finally came the Playstation. I choose the Playstation which I'm very happy I did. Many games came out for it. Also many great series started on it. For examples Crash Bandicoot series and Resident Evil series.

I sold my old grey Playstation years ago. Bought it back for 20 dollars. Ccurrently playing it to this day. The system is over 10 years old and runs like new.

Right now games are about graphics and movies than gameplay. If anyone would see the graphics they would get sick. Because its a major downgrade but if you were like me and grew up on it than the graphics don't seem so bad. I say buy it even though its been dead for years now. There is a ton of games on it to play and can be found for dirt cheap prices.

Summary: MUST be on the top 10 for game systems!
Comment: when this was popular,I was only a baby. but when I was 6, my parents decided to give me my first game system,my dad's a gamer. he has a PS1,but not a ps2 unfortunately. he gave me the ps1.he showed me the games he had like crash, spyro, gran turismo, parappa the rapper, and more. I loved the system, eventually I got a ps2. but I still use this to play ps1 games.
so if you can't afford a ps2 or a ps3, or if you're a "game guy" and wanna get this, this is the one for you!
